“Players from Harbord, Neutral Bay & Mosman off to State Playoffs”

Region 15 Playoffs for the Singles, Open/Senior Pairs & Triples playoffs were held at Chatswood Bowling Club with the Singles and Triples championships being held on Tuesday 22 August and the Open & Senior Pairs on Wednesday the 23rd.

Supporters were treated to some outstanding bowling which was indicative of the low scoring with margins very tight at the finish.

This resulted firstly with Masako Sato and Virginia Longfellow from Harbord finishing strongly to win the Open Pairs against a determined Neutral Bay pair.

Secondly, the Senior Pairs produced one of the highlights of the season with Neutral Bay finally prevailing in the necessary extra end over Benita Andrews and Robyn Morron from Dee Why.

The Singles was won by Julie Hayden from Mosman over Masaka Sato from Harbord and Neutral Bay took out the Triples against Chris Gordon’s team from Harbord.

Our congratulations to Virginia and Masako who are now off to the State Championships at Taren Point in October.

Our thanks to the Chatswood Club for hosting these events and to all the willing volunteers who helped make the day such a success.”
